These Are the Best 10 Things to Buy From Oprah's Favorite Things List, According to a Fashion Writer
Oprah's Favorite Things list is the bible of holiday gift-giving. This year though, I couldn't help but realize there was far more fashion included than previously. I'm a fashion writer, so it's my job to notice these things, and then let you all know what's worth buying. Fortunately, Oprah made my job so easy, I've convinced myself I need to buy 10 of her favorite things, including a perfect pair of Tory Burch boots and a dreamy Ugg coat I've already written an ode to.
But the 10 items I think I need are also just staples I think everyone should buy. Oprah knew what she was doing this year, with a priority on comfort and ease. After the last two years, easy fashion that feels like a blanket to wear is essentially what we all need more of. And as we work our way back to wearing high heels on long nights out, we should thank Oprah for blessing us with many comfortable slide recommendations in the meantime.
If you're looking to follow Oprah's guidance — as we all are — here are the 10 best fashion writer-approved items to start with. I guarantee you, these will all make great gifts. Whether you're shopping for yourself or getting ahead of the holiday season already.

Tory Burch Women's Foul Weather Boots
People have been sleeping on Tory Burch accessories. The brand is known for its bags, of course, but there are so many Tory Burch boots, shoes, sandals, and slippers I would do crazy things for. This Oprah-approved boot is no different. It's the nicest looking rain-proof boot I've ever seen and the chunky lug sole couldn't be more on trend. Oprah loves that they have the ability to brighten up any outfit, and I couldn't agree more. I want to wear these with everything, rain or shine.

Ugg Gertrude Long Teddy Coat
There's no denying the extreme pleasure that comes with buying a brand new coat for winter. Although I tend to wait until I'm freezing at the end of December, and then regret not looking into a new coat sooner. Fortunately, thanks to Oprah, I don't have to look that far this year because her Ugg coat recommendation is everything I could have dreamed of. It'll itch my desire for the Max Mara version, for thousands less, which is truly all I could ever ask of a teddy coat. The only issue is I can't decide whether I want it in beige or pink, which maybe just means I should get both.

Alex Mill Crosby Sweatshirt Jumpsuit
When it comes to my closet, I own a lot of everything. Of course, I don't think there is a limit to the amount of shoes or vintage Galliano Dior one can own. But I'm definitely lacking in the loungewear department, and I blame my Type A personality for that. I just don't find as much joy in relaxing as I should. I feel like I need to constantly be doing something (and maybe it's the native New Yorker in me). That being said, Oprah's favorite Alex Mill sweatshirt jumpsuit that she swears is extremely "flattering" seems like the type of thing that would relax me, and make me take a second to enjoy a slow-paced Sunday at home.

Apollo 1 XL Duffle
Another thing I'm severely lacking in is travel essentials. I don't own a suitcase or a duffle bag I love, which automatically makes me despise any outfit I wear to the airport. Sure, I shouldn't really care about what I wear to the airport, but I'll blame the rise in popularity of celebrity airport style for that one. I've convinced myself I need to somehow stumble across the perfect vintage Louis Vuitton set of trucks, but until then, this great Oprah-approved duffle will definitely do the trick. Oprah swears it's the perfect size, and I cannot stop thinking about it in bright orange.

Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Robe
I know this is all about Oprah's favorite things, but the woman has good taste and it is no surprise that there's some overlap with other celebrities whose opinions we also trust. Jennifer Garner has long been a fan of cozy pieces by Barefoot Dreams, and Oprah's endorsement of this robe has me convinced I need some of the brand in my life. Not to mention Oprah described the texture as "yummy," which is enough to convince me I could live in this after a hot shower.

Beast Blender and Hydration System
So this blender choice might be a surprising pick coming from a fashion writer, but achieving an aesthetic lifestyle at home (especially during quarantine) has been very much en vogue. I've tried to start learning how to cook things, mostly unsuccessfully because I just don't love it. One thing I do love though is making a smoothie. It's one of my favorite ways to start my day, which is actually a shame considering I've somehow managed to go through four blenders in the last year alone. They kept breaking on me and were often so not aesthetically pleasing, I'd hide them from plain view in my kitchen, and I didn't shed a tear when they broke. Then I started to see influencers everywhere swear by this Beast blender, which is so beautiful, it completely changed my mind about how lackluster I feel about most kitchen appliances.
Now Oprah is also a die-hard fan, and says not only is it beautiful to stare at, but it's made by the same people who created the Nutribullet, so it actually works. An added bonus is the hydration system, which allows you to blend up fruits and veggies for fancy spa-like water. And honestly, what's more fashionable than that?

Janis by Janis Savitt Baroque Shell Pearl Drop Earring
I buy almost all of my jewelry vintage or from small designers, but leave it to Oprah to convince me to add a pair of earrings to my Amazon shopping cart. To be fair, these shell pearl drop earrings look exactly like something I'd spent hours sifting through a thrift store hoping to find, but they're so affordable for this kind of style at just $132. Oprah took the words right out my mouth with her review: "I say every day is a good day to wear pearls!" Amen.

Roam the Puffy Sandal
Just like with loungewear, I also lack in the cozy slipper slide department. You can almost always catch me in a pair of knee-high boots or extreme chunky platforms. I rarely ever wear a shoe that doesn't get me closer to my boyfriend's 6-foot-2-inch frame. But when Oprah describes a pair of sandals as "a dream to wear," you don't walk, you run to buy a pair. Or in this case, instantly add it to your virtual shopping cart. And honestly, these will probably make running out for a quick dog walk or errand run far more enjoyable.

Saysh One Sneaker
If you've been closely monitoring the supermodel sneaker season like we have, you'd know a classic pair of New Balance kicks seem to be it. But now that Oprah has deemed these Saysh One sneakers as her favorite, there's more than a small chance we'll see these everywhere next. And no big deal, but they were designed by Allyson Felix, the most decorated American track-and-field Olympian. Felix wanted to pay special attention to the form of the female foot, so these sneakers fit like a glove whether you're running a marathon or to your local bodega.
